The Festival was born from the experience gained during seven years of successful public and institutional recognition towards the then precursor Nou Barris Blues Festival , an initiative that emerged in 2003 from the ' Association Capibola Blues , which responds to the desire to promote and disseminate the musical style of the whole society, so popular and altruistic.

The consolidation of the Festival, along with the idea of the organizers to extend it to all locals, has led the competition to become a landmark in the cultural calendar of the city. This projection led to the change of name, with which the Festival was born, so that we know today.

What has never changed is the spirit of the festival approached the characteristics and variety of blues tunes and the general public and those most disadvantaged social groups from the solidarity, selflessness and gratuity, without forgetting the high quality activities, Master-class, jam sessions, performances for children and public concerts of "Nights Capibola.
