Harmonica master class by Victor Puertas

In this workshop we will talk about blues harmonica for the various techniques of how to play, vibrato, wah-wah, tremolo, the use of language, ways of expansion and especially and most importantly within the blues, the feeling. We are approaching both the most rural blues known as "Pre-War Blues" of Deford Bailey, Sonny Terry and Noah Lewis, to the more electric blues of Little Walter and Big Walter Horton.

Victor Puertas, his 27 years, is considered one of the best blues harmonica nationwide. During his short but long career and during his stay in United States, has had the good fortune of playing in places like Antone's flagship "House of Blues" (Austin, Texas), Kennedy Center (Washington DC), participate in the first disc of the Sherwood Blues Band and playing with blues master Jerry Portnoy, Gary Primich, Joe Filisko, Ben Andrews and Mark Wenner heard. At the national level has shared the stage with musicians of the Big Mama Montse (who is currently in its "BluesLab3"), Naco Goñi, Los Reyes del KO among many others. Has trodden most blues festivals in Spain, highlighting the performance of teloneros as Hubert Sumlin, Bob Margolin and Big Eye Willy Smith in Hondarribia Blues Festival with The Suitcase Pere Gates Brothers. Noteworthy contributions in their soundtracks as "The Ball", "November" or "Life abysmal." At present part of the faculty of the School-Taller de Blues de Barcelona "is here the moment it begins to transmit everything that has been learning every experience over a stage and beyond, along these 14 years with the blues.
