SATURDAY JULY 5TH - 8:30 PM - FREE
8:30 PM - Johnny Burgin & His Spanish Friends
Johnny Burgin: blues without borders.
Originally from the southern U.S., Johnny Burgin went from aspiring writer to one of the most respected figures in contemporary blues. A chance encounter with the genre at a West Side Chicago club changed everything: he left the library for the stage and learned from legends like Tail Dragger, Sam Lay, and Pinetop Perkins.
After years of touring, recording, and a break to raise his daughter, he returned to the scene with strength and acclaim. With over eleven albums as a bandleader, projects like No Border Blues Japan, and collaborations with both icons and emerging talents, Johnny masterfully blends traditional blues with a global perspective.
He also shares his knowledge through teaching and inspiring videos on YouTube, proving the blues is more alive than ever. On this occasion, he’s joined by top-tier musicians from the Barcelona blues scene:
- Johnny Burgin – Vocals and guitar
- Johnny BigStone – Guitar
- Sweet Marta – Harmonica
- Freddy Muñoz – Bass
- Homero Tolosa – Drums
