2022 Festival Band's Announce!

Glad to present the confirmed bands for the 2022 edition of the Barcelona Blues Festival!

On the 20th anniversary of the Festival, we've brought you a schedule where we've thrown the rest!

Friday 8 July

- Vargas Blues Band ft Jon Byron Jagger

The renowned musician Javier Vargas returns to the burden with his new work "Back in Memphis", 30 years after the release of his career, "Memphis-Madrid" in 1992. Vargas will feature a luxury member on this tour, vocalist Jon Byron Jagger, nephew of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones, whom the Vargas Blues Band has shed this recent year.

- Popa Chubby

Popa Chubby, whose birth name is Ted Horowitz, has for over 30 years 'rocking' the blues in its ferocious and moving manner. In the course of a career that dates back to 1994, he has been a force to consider guitar, and his stormy and moving interpretation has never been more powerful. An imposing figure and acting style describing how "the Stooges meet Buddy Guy, Mot".rhead meets Muddy Waters and Jimi Hendrix meets Robert Johnson".

Saturday 9 July

- Scaramanga

Rythm.Blues Instrumental band formed for top musicians in the city such as guitarist Héctor Martín and saxophonist Pere Miró.

- Adrián Costa Blues Band

Costa, based on shoes made to dance, brings us this first record after thousands of kilometres of road, blues and good-looking. With his eternal smile, as a total and uneasy artist, as a direct demolitor and heir to the brightest eclectic blues tradition, uncomplicated, of a thousand dyes, aromas and influences.

- Barcelona Big Blues Band (B4)

Traditionally, Barcelona has given good jazz and swing bands.

From the early 1970s to the present, many musicians and arrangers of the city have been left to be seduced by the power and versatility characteristic of such formations. But up to now, none of them had done so with the will to devote themselves to blues and rhythm and blues. The Barcelona Big Blues Band, under the direction of contrabass Ivan Kovacevic, combines a group of good musicians who create an energetic, savage and yet sophisticated sound. Through his arrangements, Kovacevic applies to the Big Band all the experience and criteria he has acquired in small convoys. The resulting stream is a sound stream in the tradition of bands such as T-Bone Walker and Johnny Otis.

Sunday 10 July

- Jam Sessión at Castell de Torré Baró

In charge of the alumni of the School of Blues in Barcelona, we will enjoy a jam session of closure of the Festival in this privileged and unknown environment that enjoys some of the best views of the City of Barcelona.

July and August Wednesdays
