Mike Wheeler is a blues composer, vocalist and guitarist who began his 30-year career with Muddy Waters pianist, Lovie Lee. He has a long musical experience as a guitarist and his voice recalls one of the pioneers of soul, Sam Cooke. Mike Wheeler is recognized in the Chicago blues community to collaborate, both as a guitarist and composer with several artists such as Nellie Tiger Travis, Peaches Staten, Sam Cockrell, Demetria Taylor, Big Ray and Cadillac Dave, as well as touring the world sharing stage with artists of the likes of Willie Kent, Koko Taylor, Buddy Guy, BB King, George Benson, Jimmy Johnson and Shemekia Copeland. Mike Wheeler received the prestigious Chicago Blues Hall of Fame Award in 2014. In 2001 he formed his own band, Mike Wheeler Band, becoming currently the most active band in the scene in Chicago.
